The dust has settled on our National Grading weekend, and we are left with much more knowledge and improved tools to only make our training even better.
In reflection, we are immensely impressed with how the United Experts conducted both the seminar and the grading for UK United students. The quality of training can’t be emphasized enough. The seminar was advertised as a technical look into aspects of Krav Maga training, and it delivered exactly that.
United Krav Maga Experts
We were fortunate enough to be visited by two Experts flown in from Poland. We were excited to welcome both Robert Tercjak (Expert Level 5) and Łukasz Kołodziejczyk (Expert Level 2) back to Glasgow United Krav Maga. Both instructors hold a wealthy background in different combatives and have also conducted training around the globe – including Mexico, Cyprus, France, Poland and the UK.
Robert’s expertise is broad and varied. He holds positions as a United Krav Maga Military Instructor, CQB/CQC Tactical Instructor, Knife Fighting Defence Instructor, Law Enforcement and Undercover Defensive Tactics Instructor, Air Marshal Krav Maga Instructor, and United Krav Maga Close Protection Instructor.
Similarly, Lukasz has an extensive background in various self-defence disciplines, including roles as a Self Defence Instructor, Military Instructor, Tactical Knife Fighting Instructor, and VIP Protection Instructor.
Seminar
The weekend began with a comprehensive seminar that looked into the technicalities of Krav Maga. The emphasis on precision and practicality was evident. Every drill, every technique was dissected and practiced repeatedly until it became second nature. This approach not only improved our skills but also boosted our confidence in applying them effectively under pressure and in everyday, real situations.
Robert and Lukasz provided invaluable insights and personalised feedback, ensuring that each student walked away with a clearer, more refined approach to their practice.
The participants gave overwhelmingly positive feedback – Students were particularly blown away by the quality of our simple combatives. The ability to execute basic moves with precision and power in high-stress situations highlighted the importance of mastering the basics. The realisation that simple, well-executed techniques can be game-changers was a powerful takeaway for everyone involved.
Grading
The grading itself was a true test of our progress and resilience. It was an intense experience, demanding both physical endurance and mental toughness. Each student demonstrated their proficiency in various techniques, showcasing the hard work and dedication they have put into their training.
Not only was it a test of whether they were ready for their next level, but it was also a valuable learning experience, where students gained much more knowledge than they had before walking through the door. This highlights the importance of gradings with United Krav Maga, as they serve both as benchmarks for advancement and as crucial opportunities for deeper learning and growth.
Looking back, the National Grading weekend was more than just a test of our abilities; it was a celebration of our commitment to continuous improvement. The knowledge gained and the skills honed over these intense days will undoubtedly elevate our training to new heights. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the United Experts for their exceptional guidance and to all the students for their unwavering dedication.
As we move forward, we carry with us the lessons learned and the determination to keep pushing our boundaries. The journey of learning Krav Maga is ongoing, and with the foundation laid during this incredible weekend, we are more equipped than ever to face any challenge that comes our way.
Thank you to everyone who participated and made this event a resounding success. Here’s to even greater achievements in the future!
